Saturday August 7, 2010 Tango workshop for musicians In this workshop you will learn the essential elements that make a piece of music sound like tango. We will demo and give exercises to help you turn a lead sheet, or a melody line, into real tango music by using accompaniment and melodic layers. The class is intended for musicians who already play an instrument, and wish to become familiar with the techniques, interpretation and arrangement "secrets" of tango music. All musical instruments are appropriate for this class, with the exception of percussions, since we are focusing on tango, not candombe or argentine folklore Auditing: People who don't play a musical instrument but are interested in the technical aspects of tango music can sign up to audit the class. 4:30pm - 6pm Venue 2929 19th Street San Francisco Registration click here... ------------------------------------------------------ Friday August 6, 2010 Noche de Garufa Antipanico Tango Festival in SF Check out the program here... ------------------------------------------------------ Save the date: Sept 18, 2010 A special event in Berkeley you won't want to miss! ------------------------------------------------------ Sign up to our tango party list to keep in touch and receive fresh news on our upcoming events, shows, and musicality workshops...
